The honest answer to “what do veneers cost” is that it depends on what your smile actually needs. What we can do is tell you exactly what determines the answer, so that when you do have a consultation, you understand the value.
Who makes the veneer.
Many practices send impressions to a high-volume production based laboratory. At Tillinger Dental, every veneer is created and finished by a master ceramist, layered by hand to match the translucency of your natural enamel. Two veneers can share a name and be entirely different things in daylight.
Who designs the smile.
Veneers are not placed one tooth at a time. They are designed as a set, in proportion to your lips and your face. Our doctors practice Facial Aesthetic Design and teach veneer techniques to dentists nationally. Design is real work, and it is part of an honest fee.
The health underneath.
A beautiful veneer over an unhealthy tooth is a short-lived investment. If gum treatment or foundational work needs to come first or be treated simultaneously, that affects both the sequence and the cost, and it protects the result for decades.
How many teeth, and which ones.
Some patients need 22 veneers. Some need two, plus whitening.
Why the cheapest veneer is often the most expensive.
Veneers done well last ten to fifteen years and often longer. Veneers done poorly get replaced, and replacement means paying twice while your natural enamel pays the difference. This is also the honest caution about dental tourism: the quote abroad may look attractive, but the adjustment in year two happens in another country and with additional expenses.
Sometimes you do not need veneers at all.
Whitening refreshes color. Bonding repairs chips and closes small gaps in a single visit. Invisalign straightens without touching the enamel. Veneers are the most transformational option that allows “full control” of your smile, but the right first question is never “how many veneers.” It is “what does your smile actually need.” That conversation is what the consultation is for.
